The clerks are working-class supercillious ..maybe a defensive posture rooted in insecurity...i can always sense it when working people judge me with jealousy...they think i am a "spoiled Stanford student"...fact is I'm not, but yes i did go to a good college & stuck it out..didn't quit despite the challenges..but if you are a clerk you quit school. That was YOUR choice. & in defense of Stanford students, they worked their backside off to get in...& its not a cakewalk to make it...the only thing that makes them seem "spoiled" is the fantastic facilities...the beautiful campus...but that doesn't make studying any easier or the conditioning for sports less strenuous. Just be gracious to others ladies. Im over 50 years old...& when i was younger growing up i did ALL the different odd jobs including grocery store stocker, paper boy, pizza delivery for dominoes, pizza maker at little Caesars, parking lot attendant at knotts berry farm, pre-loader at UPS, shoveling snow ,even picking tomatoes& beans ...among other things. You are not the only ones who work w/ your hands. But you see it as an end in itself, whereas myself & others saw it as a means to an end...thats called "the American dream"...however i became partly disabled along the way...i don't Show it too often but i am often in constant pain.
