I don't mind being watched at self- checkout as long as they're watching everybody. Right when I began checking out, the Latino employee moved quickly to his post and watched . Then , as soon as I finished, the Latino employee watching me left his post even though there was still another person checking out. I'm white. The other person was Latino. You be the judge. Is this prejudice & preferential treatment? Harassment ?

 I'm almost 60 & been paying all my bills for all 60 years. Or since I was old enough to start paying my own bills. Prior to that, my parents paid all my bills and all their bills too. I also make donations, pay taxes, & worked as a civil servant for many years among other things.

Shopping at Walmart has become a DISMAL EXPERIENCE 🙁☹️specially if you go through the self-checkout. Now they have half of the self-checkout Lanes closed down and they have extra people watching your every move- it's like they're micromanaging.

 So they just stare at you the whole time blank-faced -they don't act like humans- even if you try to break the ice and say something nice or funny they just stare BLANKLY. They're like robots or even zombies. Severely DEHUMANIZING experience.

 I'm almost at the point where I won't go to Walmart anymore because even after checkout , you still have to go through the scrutiny of the of the person by the door who acts like he's the BIG BOSS 👎.

 Meanwhile, how many of these employees are actually stealing from Walmart themselves ⁉️

Newport Beach Public Library

New construction project is making parking a hassle. Used to be plenty of spots in the structure now you have to go all the way to the top almost to get a spot during the busiest time of day. Meanwhile, the library itself seems to 

becoming a little more ghetto in nature. 

I used the sound Lab this morning & I was told that I had to leave because somebody else already had a reservation. Even though they were late for the reservation which is the only reason I could log into the computer in the sound Lab. They were more than 10 or 15 minutes late. 

But I didn't put up an argument I just said okay no problem. The guy who had the reservation came in wearing what looked like pajamas and they were halfway down his backside showing his underwear. 

You don't have to come down Newport Beach to prove you are ghetto. There's plenty of libraries all around OC  and LA counties where you can fit in much more comfortably than here. I mean I just don't get why people would take the long bus ride or however they get here just to  shove it in your face and say I'm ghetto.

 That seems to be their main point of coming here, just to be annoying. And I'm NOT talking about any particular skin color or race. I'm talking about attitude. Nobody cares about your skin color or race or socioeconomics as long as you're just a decent person. 

Anybody can buy decent- enough clothes that will be fine to come to the library. But when you intentionally lower your pants halfway down your back side, we know you're trying to insult Us & say

 "F you" to us. Why travel all this way just to say F You to us ? Are you really that angry ? Does this make you feel better?

Been gone for a few months. Wandered down to computer lab around 6pm. Hoping for some new faces, rather than the same ol robots. Sat down for a few moments & in walks the bossy Asian lady who used to try to dim the lights, until I said NO 🚫. Groan. She's still coming here like she owns it. So I leave. Can't stand to be around her.

--I found a guy's wallet in the downstairs computer lab and saw the name inside, so I looked it up online and he turned out to be a UCI employee. I found an email to contact him & told him to come and get it or else I will bring it to the desk. He came within an hour to get his wallet but he Didn't Even Say Thanks or show any appreciation to me.

Even worse he treated me like I was the Bad Guy For Contacting Him to help him get his wallet back which included money in it. I wasn't expecting a reward but a Genuine Thanks would have been nice. GO FIGURE THAT. How many people would try to contact him to help him get it back?

It has a lot of nice features and generally nice atmosphere . However there are a few " obsessive compulsive" personalities at the public computers that always make it a little creepy . Two people in the downstairs lab (one female, the other male) are there SO OFTEN- esp the guy, you begin to feel like you are in their bedroom or living room. I just don't like being there anymore when they are there , which is almost always 👎.

Maybe they could have a time limit on the downstairs computers to help move some of these over-users on to living a life. Or at least go upstairs for a while. Take a walk. Call your family. Make a new friend.  See your therapist. Go to the beach ⛱️. Live a life . You CAN do it 👍

Believe it or not, they have a very rudimentary untied-shoes sort of creepy fellow basically living inside the condemned Library who peeks out the window to make sure nobody is sitting on the lawn. 

It seems like the orders are coming from above that they want to make sure nobody stays on or near the closed Library lawn for very long. If you walk by and take a break, sit down, rest, and  use their Wi-Fi which is still on as a free accessory ( "free" meaning tax-payer benefit) they will forcefully ( not physical force as far as I know, yet ) but without apology, & without normal social etiquette, and without even showing identification, make sure that you leave the PUBLIC premises , (PROBABLY ILLEGALLY because it is public property and the outside is not condemned).

 They are so DEATHLY AFRAID of becoming like a downtown Los Angeles homeless haven that they have orders to make sure nobody stays on the public lawn and pay a low level security guard (maybe ex-con) to stay inside the library at all times peeking out the window to enforce this (probably illegally) , even on New Year's Day the day of the famous Rose Parade when there are thousands of tourists walking to the parade and from the parade back to their cars, as well as to the Rose bowl for the football game. It is freakin CREEPY 👎👎😡👎😡

this is one of those Walmarts you go to only because it has the lowest prices; otherwise you'd gladly go anywhere else. And now as of March 2024 they've made it even worse by restricting self-checkout to NO MORE THAN 10 ITEMS. So most of them are empty with long lines for cashier checkout 🛒🛒🛒🛒👎😡. 

I hate waiting so I picked out a handful of items from my cart (less than 10) and did self-checkout leaving the rest of the items sitting in my cart ( i wonder how many carts like this they are finding lately).

 Low prices aren't worth the hassle . Maybe I'll drive to the supercenter in Milpita (unless this new policy is at all Walmarts); otherwise I'll 

just go to Target 🎯 or Lucky etc.

Everything is pretty good here except the white guy who does the carts 🛒. 1st time I came there he stared me down as I drove into the parking lot. I dismissed it the first time.

 However, again today as soon as he saw me, it was as if he wanted me to see him around and about almost as if he had to show off . He walked past me going in. Then he walked past me in the shopping aisle 🛒. 

Then he reappeared as I was returning to my car with the groceries. It started to feel like harassment. I just want to shop peacefully and go home and target 🎯 is the best option when everything is working right. 

I hope management reads this and can do something about this cart  guy.  I have no idea what's going on. Now I'm thinking about shopping in the evening to avoid seeing this guy again. It shouldn't be this way.

Tonight it was rain and the media is reporting blizzard (at high elevations), storms, rainfall,high winds,etc . So around 6 pm I accept a delivery which turns out to be a double delivery. When you accept a delivery you aren't told if it's a single or double. You realize it's a double after accepting. If you don't accept you lose 1st priority status. So I accept everything.

 But a double delivery takes more time and is more difficult to communicate with the customer due to all the bells & whistles on the app & the danger of lag or crash etc if you click too much. By double delivery I mean they have you pickup 2 nearby orders and then they provide the recipient addresses, one after the other.

 And it was pouring rain 🌧️, and in this area i know in advance there's nowhere to park near the restaurant to pick up the order so I walk (actually run) to restaurant #1, & pick up the order where they have no plastic bags even for rainy days ( fortunately i brought a blanket with me to the the order,as well as an umbrella ☔) ,& then run to restaurant #2.

At restaurant #2 I lose my data connection but fortunately they have WiFi so after I figure out the password I'm able to tell them whose order I'm picking up.I literally run back back to the car in the rain with 2 orders under my blanket in one hand, and holding the umbrella in my other hand, trying not to trip & fall. The whole trek is about 3/4 mile on foot, total. 

I drive to recipient #1 in the pouring rain. 

Along the way I get a text from recipient #2 asking "What time i will arrive?" This means she's not happy, wondering why its taking so long. I can't respond to her immediately because I'm afraid of losing the directions to recipient #1 address.

The dasher app can be clunky sometimes so that if you switch screens too much it sometimes lags, or even crashes at times.  IF it crashes it can be a 10 or 15 minute delay for it to reboot. So I wait until completing delivery #1 to text recipient #2 saying I'm "on the way". 

And a few minutes later I'm dropping off the order on #2's  steps, leaving a text message saying it's "On your doorstep. Thanks" per instructions. At this point I notice they decided to leave tip "after delivery", depending whether they approve of me or not. I move onward. 

Later, I make one more delivery and also notice a homeless person at a 7-11 who didn't look too good. I interacted with him,  but he wasn't very responsive. I left him a few dollar bills in his hand but wondered if a random fellow nearby would steal it from him once I drive away. I also call the police and asked them to do a "welfare check". Prayers for him on this cold & wet evening. And that's it for the evening.

 I check the app one more time and  notice that recipient #2 decided to leave "NO TIP". Do they have any idea what I did to try to get their delivery to them as fast as possible in the pouring rain doing a double delivery ⁉️

Oh, by the way, I am a highly educated person with 2 bachelor degrees & a masters & professional working experience. I do door dash periodically as I am working on another degree. Some people assume all delivery people are desperate high school dropouts or something. Not true. We like to be respected too.

Prayers for Pasadena, & re Central Library

I go to Pasadena every year for a few days on and around New Year's Day to do evangelism and also film the parade and attend various tournament of roses events. This began when I was a student at Fuller seminary which is only a block away from the parade route. 

Usually it goes pretty well because Pasadena Police and law enforcement is on their best behavior trying to make it a nice relaxed day for everybody including visitors from around the USA as well as worldwide. 

However this year during the parade I encountered two satanists 👿 which was distressing enough. Please pray for their delivery from their demonic obsession.

Then, afterwards, I took a few minutes to rest on the front lawn of the Pasadena Central library, and was abused by a  security goon employed by the city or Library to keep people off the lawn, even though it's public property paid for by taxpayers. 

It's a long story, but to reiterate, as best as I can tell the city library has employed security goons to illegally keep people off the public property out of fear that it will become like a downtown Los Angeles homeless haven. 

Apparently they CANNOT legally post

 "no trespassing" signs because it is public property so they illegally hire security to Illegally harass anybody who comes on to the lawn and they give orders to the  security goons (who refused to provide any identification by the way) to claim it's NOT public property even though it obviously is. 

And you would NOT expect this on New Year's Day of all times and places. And I personally would not expect it because I am NOT a homeless person nor was I looking for a place to pitch a tent. Nor did I look like somebody who was homeless carrying a  backpack or wheeling a grocery cart etc.

Nonetheless I received the treatment, or MISTREATMENT and it was very disturbing. I am now in the process of writing and filing a complaint against the City and/ir Library. I would call this a Pasadena SNAFU:  Situation Normal All Fouled Up. 

Nonetheless, I did NOT expect it on New Year's Day when Pasadena temporarily tries to be on their best behavior. But even on New Year's Day apparently they have a creepy security goon inside the condemned library (closed for years until they complete earthquake retrofit ) creepily SPYING out through the window in case anybody stays on the lawn for too long. Very sickening and did I mention, very creepy 👎😠.

Please pray for Repentance in Pasadena and for them to abide by the law and especially the Spirit of the Law rather than their normal selfish self-serving behavior which has gone on for so many decades in the city that really doesn't have that much to offer except on New Year's day, but they protect it like it's Paradise. 

Go figure. I can assure you there's NOTHING that great about Pasadena CA except on New Year's Day. Many better places to go and be and live. 

College Terrace Library, Palo Alto

So I stopped in at the terrace library which I hadn't been to in a while. first thing happened was somebody parked right in front of me the wrong way facing the wrong way on the street taking my spot no apology as if there's no other spots around which they are. This isn't New York City .

Then I enter the library and there's an adult person LYING ON HIS BACK reading his phone. Comfortable?

I sit down and start working on my laptop and suddenly a guy burst in with lots of bags and stuff he sits down next to me and then he pulls out two hot smelly sandwiches he just bought at some restaurant and for some reason he said to carry him all the way to the library to eat here. 

So I look at the Palo Alto library website and it says NO FOOD OR DRINKS. Why won't they enforce this ? I mean I get it if you want to bring a bottle of water or juice or whatever -even maybe a little something to eat on the side quietly or outside. 

But this dude was CHOWING DOWN on smelly sandwiches, chewing loudly, not quietly. Furthermore, He decided to stand up from the chair next to me and move over to sit down at the table RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME so I was in his line of vision. As well as the smell 👎. & He seemed to enjoy PURPOSELY annoying me.  it seems like his INTENT was to purposely annoy me. 

Why won't library staff enforce the rules except against me.  Please just do your job. Enforce your own rules.

The guy who did the jump start was ok.But the dispatch dude (who is also the owner named Rick) was a jerk to me on phone 👎😡. In addition to insulting me, he answers the phone without announcing who they are ( ie just says "hello" like you're calling a homeowner. So you have to first ask "is this roadside service?") . Needless to say, I asked my roadside to change to a different responder but it was too late. Never again.

SHAME ON Walgreens Manager at 2605 Middlefield Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94306

This place turned into a fiasco for me 🙁👎. I was visiting for a few weeks , attending events at nearby Stanford campus, and I started getting a check engine light (CEL) for my Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF). SO I went to eBay to search for the part, and found one.

 But before I ordered it, I called this FedEx/ Walgreens & asked if i could have it delivered there for me. The young fellow said "Sure, no problem". So I went ahead and ordered it . The next day I notice the seller switched from FedEx to UPS ( & still later UPS handed it off to USPS).

 Meanwhile I called back to Walgreens & this time a lady answered (turns out she's the manager named Madeline) & asked if they would accept the package 📦 from USPS and if I could still pick it up. Her loud emotional response left me in a state of inner turmoil. I was stunned & shocked by her demeanor.

 First, she raised her voice and said "You sent a package to MY ADDRESS⁉️" as if it was her personal home address (I'm pretty sure she doesn't own the store nor lives there). 

So already I was already alarmed at her sense of excessive entitlement just because she's the manager. Then she screeched "That's illegal. It's illegal" blah blah . I told her that one of the store employees had given me the okay. She screeched again "He misinformed you". Everything she said was spoken on a tone as if this was a 911 emergency. I finally just hung up, it was so upsetting and out-of-control on her part. So I tried to stop shipping but the eBay seller said it was too late. 

The item was eventually delivered to the Walgreens but I didn't even try to go pick it up. I didn't want to go anywhere near this place after the conversation with Madeline. I sent a complaint to Walgreens corporate and told them no matter how much she thinks this is her store, she still has a Legal Obligation to "Return to Sender" .

 Eventually the package 📦 apparently was returned to sender but without the requisite "return label" eBay provides in such cases. It will probably get back to the seller eventually but they weren't sounding very promising that I would get a refund without the refund return label. 

The only good thing to come from all of this is that eBay stood up and said that given the circumstances, they would refund me OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKET. 

Thank you eBay 👍.

a year ago in 2022: 

 

A young lady did a BAD JAB and caused clotting so they couldn't return my blood, so I get "deferred" for 8 weeks. THEY'RE FAULT. MY LOSS 👎.  And they DON'T give you any extra💲compensation. "Ryan" DIDN'T appear to feel bad about this fact. It's not until you experience something like this that you realize how much it is primarily devoted to being a MONEY-MAKING MACHINE. Not about people,but 💰 (at this location) 

 PLUS they give you BLANK FACE SORRY (NOT SORRY) stares .And they come out with a WALL of people to STARE you down like they have an "angry white male" ( I'm not male. I'm non-binary).  And they speak in a monotone voice like they're talking to "just another stupid white male". Didn't I say I'm NON-BINARY⁉️.

Then the "supervisor" from India tells you it's FDA regulations that you must wait 30 minutes (even though last time this happened the nurse simply asked if I was feeling ok.and let me go) . They say it's a "new regulation" but can't tell you when it became a new regulation. 

And they speak DOWN to you in condescending manner, like you're just another stupid pin 📌 cushion, when you express a little frustration. Needless to say , NOT a professional environment 👎 NOR  caring . 

 The other 2 Sacramento locations are actually better and more experienced. I would recommend AGAINST coming to this location. 

Also, this is an ULTRA so-called "liberal  progressive"location 👎 so if you're more of a traditional type of person you may feel a little uncomfortable, or should I say they will try to make you feel uncomfortable. And don't rule out the possiblity an INTENTIONAL bad jab .

 These progressives are the ACTUAL HATERS of traditional people. SO sad they have so much anger inside themselves. BUT please don't take your anger out on me because I'm a traditional old person. I came here with no preconceptions or biases against anybody. NOT looking for trouble. Just trying to make some extra money for Christmas 🎁 gifts for the kids. 

By the way, are these "nurses" real nurses? Are they actual registered nurses ?

But seriously. I got up to the cashier & the cheese that looked like it was 2.99 turned out to be $5 so I said "please take that off" and then she had to call the manager and she said it would take so long I had to go to a different aisle and start my whole order over. 

So I moved over to another aisle in the cashier there an African American female snapped at me and said

 "anytime you take an order 

off it causes the computer to freeze". 

She sounded like she was blaming me as if I should have known that. 

So I said " I was supposed to know that ?" She snapped back "I didn't say that". . I replied " you didn't say that in exact words but you said it in your tone" . Then she accused me of being angry even though I wasn't. I was just going with the flow trying to get in and out.

 I only got angry when she start accusing me of being angry even though I wasn't. she tried to flip it. She was the one being angry.. I was being very compatible and understanding of the situation even though I didn't want to wait in line again.

 I was in a good mood even though this happened and now I end up walking out in a bad mood because she was so angry. 😡👎🏽.

 However, when the cashier notices I am using an EBT card, her demeanor towards me changes. Apparently she seems to think I myself am the recipient of social services, as if I am a lower class citizen. In fact, I am a well-employed hard-working educated individual.

I drove through here as I was driving around town looking for an auto repair cuz my car was clicking and clacking & popping etc. Sounded terrible and I didn't know what it was. I've been to this place before not for a few years. And then I looked and realize how busy it was so I was going to just drive right back out. But this guy walked up and stop me look at me suspiciously and asked me what I wanted.

Obviously if you work at a repair shop you SHOULD HAVE BEEN able to hear my car & know without asking what I needed (or maybe not if you're just an office manager). 

But let me cut to the chase: he seemed like a JERK the way he was talking to me in a condescending manner, like he was some kind of supercilious star or something. Sorry buddy but being an office manager does not make you a star  other than a star in your own eyes. 

 He also started peering in my window like he wanted to see what I had in my car as if he was a cop or something -like he had a right to know what I was carrying with me. 

Fact is, I had my car loaded with stuff because I had been traveling all summer to New York and back. But he apparently disapproved of this as well. I already told him it looked too busy and I was leaving. He had no right to stop me from leaving.

 If he wanted to tell me this was private property I already know that. But during normal business hours it's acceptable to enter private property if the business is open to inquire, do business, look and see how busy it is etc.

 For that matter a grocery store is private property, a gas station is private property etc. I wasn't doing anything illegal. I'm a good citizen. And I was trying to leave, so why was he acting like a jerk and making me stop and tell him what I was doing.

 Simply put, I drove in past the different garage stalls & took the loop around and was heading back out. To treat me like a potential criminal was not warranted 👎🚫. SHAME on you 😡.

 I've been fixing up a nice old vehicle and I've spent a thousand dollars 💰 on repairs in the last month.There's nothing wrong with that. And I pay all my bills & taxes. My tags are current and I have auto insurance fully paid for the year. 

DON'T YOU DARE look down at me dude 👎. You are the one who dropped out of college (or never went) to become an office manager and there's nothing wrong with that but there's something good about finishing the course too, as a lot of us do because we believe it is the right thing to do.

Frankly, It would have been much easier to drop out of college & grad school to become an office manager at an auto repair shop but a lot of us refused to quit. Don't you dare think you are better than me. You judged me negatively first, so I'm judging you back. You started it buddy. Not me.

 I only had honorable intentions as I drove up while you seem to think you're better than others. No you're NOT. You may actually be Worse than the people you are negatively judging. The most famous person in the  history of the world 🌍 once said: "Take the log out of your own eye 👁️ 🌲 first" . Maybe you should listen to him. It's never too late.

This place is GREEDY 👎🚫. I pulled in with my car knocking & popping, clicking & clacking & asked the mechanic "Do you know what that is⁉️" He obviously did ,but he decided not to tell me, saying

 " We can check it out for a $65 diagnostic fee". 

I just installed a new axle for $280 based on a MISDIAGNOSIS that was supposed to stop this noise. I'm not paying another greedy mechanic for a diagnosis. 

I kept driving around pulling into repair shops ( no shortage of them) until one nice mechanic over at Star Auto heard me pull in & said confidently "It's your bearings". Turns out he was right 👍.

 That's the American way 🇺🇲.A true mechanics first thought should be about helping people, not about making money 💰. If you wanted to get rich you should get a job on Wall Street, not fixing cars. Being an honest mechanic is a noble calling and your reward is feeling good about doing an honest, decent job everyday, and your ultimate reward if you stay honest, and believe in Jesus, is Heaven 🙏✝️👍

There's an annoying fellow who comes in to use the computer and has some sort of obsessive- compulsive disorder. He goes thru a 15- minute ritual of wiping not only the computer keyboard but also everything around it as well, including the chair & table etc. 

Truth be told: the only way to be sure you don't get germs from touching anything is to simply wash hands with soap when finished. All the wiping down is simply drama & theatrics. 

Ironically, this guy looked gross. He looked unclean & unkempt himself. I finally told him "All you need to do is wash your hands afterwards" and he kept saying "not interested" as if I was trying to sell him something over the phone and he was a VIP. Dream on buddy. You're obviously nothing special 👎.

 And I added "You can get help for obsessive compulsive disorder,you know. There are doctors for that" (ie mental health professionals) . He replied again "Not interested ". 

Poor creepy fellow. But that's what you get at public libraries. Sad 😞. Prayers 🙏 for.

I actually don't like the type of libraries where there's always an employee posted at the "front desk" for whom you have to pass visual inspection upon entering and even exiting. And sometimes it makes you feel like they are undressing you with their eyes.

This is OUR library - not this employee's personal Library. Not the staff's library. So when you say "welcome" , its like a family member saying welcome as you walk in the front door of your own house. It's actually offensive.

 And when you say "Thanks for coming" as we leave, oñce again you are acting as if it's your personal library,  because you work there. And we the tax paying local citizens are the guests. That's not right. We appreciate good staff . But you are one of us, and we are one of you. We are a community. This is a public venue. Not private.

Who's the greasy long-haired guy who drives around in a city vehicle pretending to be parking enforcement ⁉️ I was in the library parking lot a little past 9 pm and he came along and told me I couldn't park there after 9 o'clock. And threatened me with a ticket. I said "Why aren't there any signs? How can you write a ticket if there are no signs?" 

There's NOT a single sign saying "No parking after 9" nor any other signs showing any time restrictions. Was he just harassing me because he wrongly assumed that I was a transient ⁉️ That's very offensive and unprofessional 👎😡. 

SHAME on this guy. Anyways, this lightweight dude who disrespected me can't hold a candle to my achievements. I continue to achieve and excel. While this college dropout self -proclaimed parking enforcer does his meaningless night route thru Newport Beach and goes home to his Santa Ana apartment to eat Cheetos & sleep all day like a bum 👎. I snorkel/swim 🤿 FOR EXERCISE every day from big CDM 🏖️ beach to little CDM & back. I like to snorkel-swim because it makes it more interesting &fun - to see the fish & sea life down below as I swim by. I would think the lifeguards on the beach at little CDM would be familiar with me by now. Same swimsuit & head gear . Same routine etc. 

But every time I arrive at little CDM they radio for the yellow boat to come & make sure I'm ok. Despite NO signs of DISTRESS.This is getting a bit ANNOYING lately.

I used to use the downstairs computer lab and enjoy the more comfortable chairs down, then one day dude showed up and he always sat in the same chair came every single day. And then this other lady also seemed to start showing up every day and she had her own little habits . So I started wearing a hoodie to block out the distraction of her idiosyncrasies.

Then I left for 6 months & traveled the world and upon return I come back here to do some work on the computers and what do you know: the same two characters are in the same exact spots. Like am I hallucinating?

And now these two seem to think they kind of like OWN the downstairs computer lab. IT'S A REAL DRAG. So now I have to go upstairs and try to sit on those hard wooden chairs but it's so hard with my arthritis - can't do it for very long.

Can the library do anything about these certain characters who become obsessive compulsive & sit in the same spot and then start to have an increasing sense of Entitlement ?

There's a few OC's (obsessive compulsives) )upstairs too but there's enough other people & staff to prevent them from acting like it's their "turf" ( altho a few do try)

My previous experience with PvE police was positive. But they may have hired a new young hothead cop- he yelled at me for the way I was backing up - apparently not aware that I was doing so because he had stopped a car in the lane which I would naturally use if he was not there.  I was trying to avoid getting too close to him and the vehicle he was ticketing. 

I think he misinterpreted what I was trying to do or showed a lack of self-awareness (that he was blocking a lane). He may also have mis-identified me as a "young punk" - sometimes from afar some people still think I'm a young man. Until they get close and see the lines and wrinkles on my face & the grey sideburns.

 But I'm 56 now. I guess I have to wait until I'm 65 and an official senior citizen to get some respect.

Our young female guide was nice but she seemed to be bothered by being included in photographs. We WEREN'T intentionally including her, but sometimes she was standing directly in front of the object we wanted to "remember on

 film" (that's an old euphemism now given everything is digital now).

 Needless to say, if you are a tour guide you must expect you will show up incidentally or intentionally in photographs from time -to- time. If that's too bothersome, with all due respect, find a different job. 

Apart from that, it was Fun. & Interesting. 👍 I wish they would allw you to see what it's like up in one of the guard towers.

This is a BAD NEIGHBORHOOD if ur just passing through ... years not the nice types of homeless but the opposite - the angry ones with a chip on their shoulder blaming everybody else for their problems.   

While getting gas here a pathetic-looking sad guy just stared at me the whole time watching every single moment of my process of getting gas with a smirk on his face.  it really felt weird - he was really strange. I just wanted to get in and out of there as quick as possible and get away from that creepy freak.  

Meanwhile it seemed like there was a drug deal going on a few feet away from me as I was pumping gas ⛽. 

Then as I pulled out of the gas station a guy on a bike was going the wrong way and he flipped me off as I drove toward him as if it was my fault I was driving the right way on the street,  and he was driving the wrong. 

I pray for anybody here who does not know Jesus Christ as Savior to make that decision to accept Christ and be saved. Repent and be baptized. do not wait until it's too late. 🙏✝️❤️

(This is a review NOT of the inner workings of the preschool or how well they do with the kids inside etc but my experience parking next to the preschool.)

This place is toxic 👎. I'm a very good citizen and a very good person. I've been coming to Coachella valley ever since I used to teach here, and now I return at least once a year ( usually several times to hike etc) and always around tennis time in March.

 I've always parked next to the preschool and walked to the tennis arena to save a few dollars. NOTHING wrong with that. I'm not poor or impoverished, but I do like to save money when I can. 

 I missed the tennis tournament because of the covid because I don't want to get a vaccine but I returned in 2023 and parked in my usual spot but this time it caused a big fuss. 

Almost immediately some guy came out and POUNDED on my window (which I keep shuttered when I park to limit sun damage and prevent prowlers from peeking in) (why not politely knock with knuckles rather than pound with fist?) and wanted to know why I'm parked legally on the street next to the preschool. I told him exactly why as noted above.

He tried to say that the city will post signs not to park here. I said they've never done so in the last 15 years. He was caught in a lie and knew it & seemed slightly embarrassed (rightly so,) & then walked away. 

Meanwhile some lady from the preschool was standing on top of the the play structure peeking over the wall at me in my car even though I had done NOTHING WRONG and I'm a good citizen and everything was fine. 

Eventually they left me alone but by that time I was I was Internally Upset and didn't want to be near that place so I moved voluntarily to a different parking spot which are NOT always so easy to find. 

Anyways SHAME on this place and their toxic environment & the harassment that I experienced just for parking on a public Street next to the preschool. You cannot use childcare as an excuse to harass people.

 I see parents who use their kids as weapons this way occasionally to marginalize others, to whom I say,  "You're the scumbag, not me" .

Plus they deliberately leave off the instruction to display the paper receipt on your dashboard in order to write a citation to make money.

This place is a fiasco to  get in and then if you just want to go buy tickets you still have to go through security line first and then get in another line just to buy the tickets

 ...and the people up in front at the window seem to be just taking so long it seemed like 10 to 15 minutes per group to buy tickets ... so if you come in at game time which I did by the time you get a ticket it's almost 8:00 ...an hour after the game is started...

.. so I just left because I didn't want to wait and buy a full price ticket for half a game ...seems like they could do it better than they do the way they just have people sitting at those windows  chatting " should we buy this or this or that" and then they change their mind blah blah blah ...

and they don't seem to have any sense of urgency for  customer service to keep the people moving ...especially around game time.

The ticket sellers need to be MORE CONSCIENTIOUS about keeping the people moving. if a group can't decide what kind of tickets they want, customer service needs to tell them to STEP ASIDE until they make up their mind

Since the year 2000, I come to LA every year on Xmas Eve 🎁 for the holiday 🎵show at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. This year 12/24/22 , although I keep my car well maintained, I was concerned about my starter because on Christmas Eve day every time I stopped and started it got weaker and weaker to restart.

 Normally I would have parked in the parking structure at the concert hall, especially since it's free on  Christmas Eve. 🎄

But I was afraid that it would NOT restart and they might have trouble getting a tow truck inside the structure, so I parked at the nearby Burger King in an almost empty parking lot. Then I went to the concert for a few hours.When I came back to my car, as I feared, it would Not start again. 

So I was stuck there overnight on Christmas Eve and did not want to leave my car alone for fear of it getting broken into, so I had to stay with it all night. 

On Xmas Day  no repair shops are open so I was trying to think about what to do.  I was pretty sure that at least the manager or owner of the Burger King 🍔 would be gracious about it on Christmas day. At least I was close to the Catholic Cathedral and was able to attend the Christmas Mass at 8:00 a.m. and then at 10:00 a.m. as well.  ⛪

But  around 1:00 p.m. here comes a tow truck and he starts telling me I got to get it OUT OF THE LOT NOW or he's going to tow me to impound with all the extra fees and everything. So I go inside to talk to the manager,  and the female manager inside said she did NOT call the tow truck. 

 So I went back outside and the guy is already putting my car up on his tow truck.  I frantically yell " STOP STOP NO " and tell the driver that this manager said she did not call for a tow truck.

So the driver tells me it was the head honcho who called - (a male manager.) I don't know if he called  last night or maybe he called in from his home on Christmas Day,  he was so ANGRY 😡 about it for some reason. 

So this manager was so freaking vexatious about getting my car out of there ON CHRISTMAS DAY he couldn't wait one extra day when every repair shop would be open.

 I had one LAST CHANCE to try to start it before this tow truck driver was going to pull me out of there ( and charge me money 💰),...

So I turned the key 🗝️ & it sluggishly turned over & it was one of those split second moments if it didn't start it wouldn't start, but if it did I was out of there .

And just by a Miracle-  I believe it was a Christmas Miracle (praise the Lord)- the car started and I was able to drive out of there, NO THANKS to the Burger King manager who couldn't wait till the day after Christmas to do business as usual 👎.

And you wonder why there's a homeless problem. A situation like this could have added one extra homeless to the list, rather than alleviate the problem. 

Getting your car towed to impound and paying the fees to get it out of impound  probably now starts around $500 in L.A. And it was totally unnecessary.  It was a holiday- not very busy- the BK manager could have waited until the next business day (Monday December 26th) to  request a tow to remove my vehicle.

But he would NOT have had to do so: 

I have my Own tow service (Better World)  and I would have been towed to a nearby open auto repair shop and everything would have been quickly solved. This really left a bad taste in my mouth towards this BK manager 👎.

I will also send a letter to Burger King corporate just reporting why this was totally unnecessary and a lack of  Christmas or holiday spirit and TOTAL LACK of normal humanitarian compassion 👎.

Re bad experience at BioLife blood plasma donation center

Sometimes it's great, but today I was in the orange section and waited 46 minutes to get jabbed while sitting in the donation chair. 

 Meanwhile people who came in AFTER me in other color areas got jabbed before me 👎. Baley (not real name) was having a bad day. 1st time I've ever encountered her. 

While I waited She walked by me numerous times &  gave me no indication that I even existed. I started wondering if I was invisible. I had a bad feeling about her, that she didn't Like me for some reason even though she's never met me or  seen me before. Not once did I get a reassurance from her or anybody else that they didn't forget me. 

Finally after almost an hour waiting she came over and gave a flippant "sorry about the wait" . Then she did a BAD jab. I seriously have to wonder if it was  intentionally done bad.

 Tebbie (not real name) came over & tried to fix it and asked why the jab was in my "side artery?" ( I think that's what she said, something about the side, indicating to me it wasn't even in the right spot) 

If somebody without morals or ethics  decides they Don't Like You they can mess up your day, ...Or in my case because of a bad jab causing hematoma, now  I CAN'T return for 2 MONTHS, meaning a loss of potential $1000 . I use this income to help others including an elderly parent. 

 Occasionally I encounter people who don't like me at first sight because they assume I'm conservative Christian. And they are right. I am conservative & Christian.  You don't have to like me. But it's unethical (& probably illegal)  to mistreat me in a place like this Because I'm conservative (you could make an argument that an  intentional bad jab is  an "assault") 

I spoke with a "training supervisor" about it and she promised to speak to Baley about it. Will she really ? People must complain to a supervisor if they have a bad experience. This is the only way to get rid of bad apples who RUIN it for everybody. Baley should be fired. 

We are literally "sitting ducks" at their mercy . Just as you expect us to arrive on time and treat employees with respect & dignity,  We must have absolute confidence and trust in their integrity to treat us to the best of their ability. I lost that confidence today 👎. Shame on you Baley. I hope you get fired.

1st time there: they watch you too much, like you're a potential shoplifter 👎. I visit museums around the country & world & have a website dedicated to art & museums. The best museums have a casual atmosphere even though they have good security. 

There's nothing WORSE than having a person literally follow you from room to room. Use a Freakin Surveillance Camera and sit in a room with big screens to surveil the patrons. 

Otherwise leave them/us alone to enjoy. If 99.9 % of patrons DON'T do anything wrong, seems wrong to watch them as if their potential shoplifters 99%of the time.

 We ALL know the golden rule of museums: Don't Touch Anything Anywhere at Anytime

The gas station is great and they got the best gas prices in the area HOWEVER that means sometimes people lining up to get gas which isn't too bad usually in my experience. But every now and then you encounter some A- HOLE like the guy I encountered today.

 He finishes pumping his gas. I'm right behind him. Then he sees another person pumping gas like it's his next door neighbor or somebody he knows and he strikes up a conversation with her while he's still in the gas line, even though he's finished pumping gas. 

I wait an appropriate amount of time but he continues to talk and then he starts to clean out his car and I'm still waiting. 

 Finally I say something- I yell at him "If you're done pumping gas get going -move out. You can clean out your car anywhere -people are waiting. There's three or four cars behind me." And he gets indignant like a little baby- like it's an imposition on him. It's like he's oblivious- he doesn't care about anybody else. This is very very rare actually. He was just so SELF-CENTERED.

 I hope my harsh language and rebuke of him will make him become better in the future but I doubt it. He seemed like he was such a self-centered selfish egotistical person . 

Very distressing to know these kind of dinosaurs still exist. We must continue to REBUKE these types of Cretans until they COMPLY . Do NOT back down.

The lady working there is great. But there's one chubby guy with dark hair who is a jerk. The lady had to instruct him about how to give proper customer service, he's hard headed 👎 like an adolescent with a smirk. He thinks he's smarter than everybody because he can operate the various technology behind the desk. 

Fed ex office locations are hit & miss. Some R great.  At others you occasionally encounter the supercilious "tech head" who smirks if h thinks he knows more than you (similar to a gear head mechanic).

 In this case the chubby techie whispered something to the lady that was obviously condescending towards me ( I imagine something like "the guy over there doesn't have a clue what he's doing but won't ask for help") . Nobody likes to be whispered about. It's major league creepy 👎 -like something insecure 10-year-old girls do to try to make themselves feel bigger than others. 

Actually I was waiting for an employee who wasn't busy to ask for assistance. It's not that I think I know -it-all but that I travel the country printing the same pamphlets over & over using the same technique or formula, usually at fed ex office. Or occasionally at Office Depot etc. 90% of the time no problems. 

So I did everything according to formula and it failed. I tried every work around . That's when the chubby techie whispered to the lady to help me ( in a colorful manner that caused a bias against me). 

The lady started out in one way but finished nicely although telling me to "Stay on the other side of the counter" wasn't necessary. She became nicer towards the end after she herself had few mistrials printing the project. 

All I ask is to be treated with common dignity & respect that everyone deserves as I try to do likewise towards others. As Jesus would do . 

Re Regal movie theater, Bellingham WA

Disappointed that they would NOT cordially use my phone # to look up my member # to get the Tuesday discount ( a savings of $10). The manager just kept repeating "we DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE". she said I must either have my card, or my card number, or download the app ( & they DON'T provide free WiFi). 

I don't have my card that I received 10 years ago. And I haven't ever used my member # . I've always used my phone no problem. The manager stuck to her guns & would NOT relent. Already a few minutes late I had to spend 10 more minutes downloading the regal app.

Then reset a new password to login.

 Then fiddle around to find my member #. Finally walk back in up to a ticket seller. Wait for the people in front to buy popcorn. Finally get a ticket. Finally got into the movie.

 Then a disappointment with the Crawdads movie .. thinking it was about a girl surviving in the swamp. Not really. She lives in a house in the marsh of NC. She's NOT surviving amongst alligators etc. Yes a tough life for a kid but NOT like a female Rambo . Wasn't expecting a tender hearted love story 👎. Good for the ladies. Not for me.

 Being a visitor for a few days, a free parking spot is a nice gracious gift. She could put a little effort into being more precise, & less LAZY 👎

I brought a new battery to them for installation in an urgent situation near closing time. Just traveling thru the area. Wasn't expecting a freebie but DIDN'T expect $50 fee either 👎. 

I figured maybe $25 would be fair at most to turn a few bolts etc. You live & learn who you can rely upon for a fair job & who u CAN'T. I've lived long enough to know this was NOT fair or honest 👎. 

Not sure who is the office manager ( & his wife ? ). It's NOT Mike. How u handle the small jobs leads to the big jobs & return customers. But he thinks I'm not from the area so what does it matter.

IT pays for a big meal at a fine restaurant. They're eating steak & lobster tonight at my expense. 

Most importantly- how u treat others will be how God treats u in the END. Think about that as you eat your steak 🍖& wine🍷 tonight. Enjoy it while it lasts . 

WOULDN'T u rather it last FOREVER ? Eternal life is NOT a guarantee if u DON'T practice the faith u profess to believe. 

BTW: I think the mechanic was named Steve & he actually knew about the history of the area he lived in. I was impressed.

I actually like this old school theatre & the video arcade with a Pac-Man machine 👍😃. 

However the Latino guy selling tickets called a customer 'boss' , which is a Latino code for the B word (that rhymes with itch) ...

 They make it sound respectful but they are (silently) laughing at you and insulting you when they call you 'boss'. 

And if U object they pretend it was meant to be respectful. It's passive aggressive. Every manager should be very aware of this & punish or fire employees accordingly.

Thanks 4 the 🔋 battery check. & Asking about my windshield washer. But REALLY do u get the cost of travel these days ? I'm NOT a cheapskate but I just put in a New alternator, belt, & tensioner; & gas costs $5 per gal. It was over $9 in Mendocino (literally). 

So forgive me if I DON't want to pay $200 bucks or more for a new windshield wiper pump when I can wash my window at any gas station or use a handheld spray bottle anywhere on the road. 

C'mon guy. DON't give me that side eye as if I'm a bad guy for NOT fixing my washer pump. Good grief. That's the least of my concerns. & YES my wipers DO work. 

This is NOT a beater car. It's in good condition: body & engine & passes CA smog which a lot of Oregon cars WOULDN'T. 

I'm NOT ashamed. I hold my head up HIGH ! I pay my bills & taxes & got insurance & up -to -date tags. But that's not what makes me  a very GOOD person. My faith in Jesus Christ is what makes me saved & my attempts to tell others about salvation makes me good .

That young guy who operates the winch for the boat launch is a major A- hole 👎😡 . There's a loop around the little shack & NO signs say "Do NOT enter". It seems like an obvious intended turnaround loop.

 But he about blew a gasket when I drove thru... getting all mad BLAH BLAH BLAH. Buddy boy, if it's a major problem for you to have vehicles pulling thru, u have a very simple FIX. u put up a sign saying "Do NOT enter". It's that simple.

 It's like you're expecting people to stop when there's NO stop sign.

 How many years has this winch been in operation (it looks pretty rusty) ? And if you haven't put up a sign yet, it AIN'T a real problem, or you are REAL SLOW- minded to put it nicely, or just REAL freakin LAZY. And if U are just freakin ornery don't take your problems out on tourists passing thru. Maybe go back to school & get a REAL job.

My experience with Henry's towing was horrific 👎😡. The driver blasted HATEFUL rap music as we drove to the destination that included the N word & degrading lyrics towards women. It was like 15 minutes of hell 👎😡.

Richard is the best mechanic, & honest. Josh is decent but you got to push him a little to get the best deal. You have to bargain with him. Don't accept first offer. Make a counter - offer. 

Then there's a BIG fat fellow who DOESN'T seem to know much about anything. He hangs around in the garage - maybe does tires only. He tries to intimidate people. That may be the main reason I won't return. They DON'T need a bouncer. He should be fired 👎

She treated me so terribly bad like I was worse than the dirt on her shoes. It still haunts me as one of the lowest points in my life. And i am a good person . NOT 🗑.

They DIDN'T like me after a while because I wasn't cheerful & smiling all the time which tells me that none of the workers themselves regularly donate plasma. Donating plasma usually is NOT painful but it is tiring & is a "job" so to speak. You have to prepare yourself mentally & physically. It's NOT "easy money". It takes time, good health, & dedication. And personally I prefer to watch a movie on my phone while donating rather than chit chat with the workers. 

And occasionally things DO go wrong. A bad jab by one of the workers may have permanently eliminated one of my arms from being useful for future donations. And It was painful for several months. I also detected that they talk about people in the back (ie gossip). This location may need a total shake-up . 

I think this location has stagnated & even a few of the employees have bully personalities & a few are a little lazy. These are NOT exactly the cream of the crop workers.  They even tried to SHAME me for expressing that I was feeling a little pain & discomfort. 

You should feel totally FREE to say something DOESN'T feel right. It usually means they simply need to adjust the needle. NOBODY should feel ashamed for saying it hurts. 

And if you leave it in too long when there is pain it could cause long-term issues to the point that you are unable to donate again. But they have an almost endless line of bodies so they are MORE concerned with quantity than quality. 

 You become expendable.

 Do NOT let them take advantage of you. Keep your own records. Document everything. It's your body. You only live once. DON'T let them treat you like a pin cushion 🚫.

 Assert your rights in a polite manner & if they cut you off for doing so, you know this is NOT the right place to be. There are OTHER places to donate plasma. Or NOT at all. What's more important: a few bucks in your pocket or your health & peace of mind. 

Personally i am  disappointed & am  moving on. A lot of the best workers have moved on too. A few good ones are still there. I wish them the best

 The guy on the phone at dispatch   keeps  making up NEW NAMES to call me . In  the same phone call he called me "sir" (which can be  respectful or FAKE respectful depending on the tone. In this case I don't think the kid at dispatch respects too many people at all). 

 Then he calls me "boss" (which is condescending  & overly used around So Cal by every freakin passive -aggressive dropout who hates their job and wish they had stayed in school👎).

AND then he calls me "buddy" (which is sarcastic) and inappropriate for a young man talking to a 60 -year-old gentleman.

 All this  tells me he's kind of a control freak  & self-centered who DOESN'T truly care about other people. 👎🚫

Around 5pm on March 11 2022 I was going west on highway 90 approaching Langry TX using cruise control to maintain a steady speed of 60mph. Lots of drivers want to go faster and so, whenever there's a "pull off" for slower traffic, I use it and allow others to pass. 

However, it is NOT my obligation to put on my brakes and stop or even slow down to allow them to pass. It is THEIR obligation to be going faster or speed up in order to successfully pass before the pull off merges back to one lane.

 A trucker from Sunview Logistics was NOT going fast enough to successfully pass. I waited as long as I could to the last moment and he was NOT increasing in speed as we approached the return to one lane. I was STILL in front of him so I merged back in and he continued to try to pass even with oncoming traffic.

 I had to FLOOR my gas pedal to avoid a dangerous situation. He was 100% wrong and I think was having one of those "hollywood moments" in his head (ie "a legend in his own mind") .

 I think his license plate # was 4TV131 . I drive 1000's of miles regularly and have a perfect driving record without conflict with others. Please REPRIMAND your driver. Very rash and dangerous of him.

I'm a longtime customer here - I LIKE the new renovations -but when I arrived for Spiderman on Tuesday December 21 2021 at noon the gal employee behind the counter at first pretended to NOT know about the Tuesday discount. But said I get the matinee discount for $12. 

I knew I'm supposed to get the Tuesday discount for approx $6 & stated so. She said "oh yeah" & asked for my card. I said I didn't have it knowing she could look it up by my number. She pretended at first to NOT know about the number lookup. She seemed intent on trying to get $12 bucks from me.Finally she realized I wasn't a "rich fool" & started doing her job. 

Dear Management, please have a conversation with this young lady about honesty & people on a budget. We're NOT ALL rich fools in this neighborhood. 

FYI for Ralphs Grocery Store workers

THIS is an FYI for  Ralphs Grocery Store workers, especially the check- out people and maybe especially the self-checkout employees (particularly in Torrance CA):  because of the bag policy in California and they're trying to reduce the use of plastic for the environment sake I have accepted the burden of NOT using bags and so I place  purchased items back in my cart and take the cart to my car 🚗 at which point I transfer everything from the cart into my car. And then when I get home I transfer everything from my car to my counter & refrigerator etc.  I do NOT bring my own bag because I do NOT like to reuse bags.  They get dirty and unsanitary very quickly.  

I explain all of this in detail because there are those workers who apparently negatively stereotype or profile people who do NOT use or buy bags as being poor or maybe even homeless & trying to walk off with the grocery cart with their your items in it.  

God forbid 🚫. This is NOT the case. First of all if I was homeless  I would NOT be shopping at Ralphs. 2nd,  as mentioned above, I do this to be as environmentally friendly as possible and also NOT because I can't afford a dime per bag. 

Your hypersensitivity to socioeconomics coming from where you come from as employees is VERY hypocritical. So it's a shame that I have to explain all this. 

It's like the professor at Berkeley who comes with his lunch in a brown bag. It's NOT because he can't afford to eat in the cafeteria;  or the professor at Stanford who drives an older car. It's NOT because he can't afford a newer car. There are eclectic people who do things for eclectic reasons . 

It's a shame when you stereotype in a negative way because that's where you came from. I hope this helps you understand things a little bit more. If you would have stayed in school long enough instead of becoming a clerk right out of  high school  you might have grown in your awareness and knowledge & appreciation of living for a higher purpose. #Pray4 🙏The African-American young man who works at the self-checkout. He actually is semi-illiterate & lives in a van behind the store, but at the same time he is very cocky & condescending ESPECIALLY towards white males, & annoys customers. The management  originally hired him out of compassion but now is afraid to do anything about him because they're afraid of a lawsuit. Meanwhile he's driving good customers away. It's a terrible situation. This store is REALLY struggling in the poor side of Torrance/Redondo .

NOBODY here seems to know how to use the digital coupons. In the cheese section there was an item on sale and the sticker next to it said "scan the QR code " which I did and I got the Ralph's website but NOT  a digital coupon. I clicked  around a little bit but couldn't find what I needed to get the discount. 

So I asked a nearby guy stocking shelves & he shrugged & said "Ask them up at front", not overly concerned about trying to help me. Then I asked the guy at self-checkout & he first said "You have to download the app." And then he added "Next time you come in, go up to the customer service and ask them."

 Clearly these employees themselves have NOT actually gone through the whole process of ever using digital coupons which is kind of surprising.

You would think the management would make sure everybody who works for them has a little bit of an idea of how things work - at least the ABC's - so they can be helpful  to the customers rather than shrug it off and send you to somebody else. Have to give

 the store a grade of C in this regards.

I've been coming here for many years  only because it's the closest Walmart &  I don't want to drive several miles away to get to the other one in Westminster. SO I just usually put up with the bad behavior by some of the clerks who monitor the self-checkout and they have some really ice cold ladies - I hate to use the b- word - but that's what comes to mind. 

Most recently I was checking out mostly groceries but also purchasing one of those storage bins & the lady made me take the top off it  to prove that I hadn't hidden anything in it.

 It was VERY embarrassing & humiliating.  I think I'm going to call Walmart headquarters and make a formal complaint about it.  She was SO ice cold about it too - NOT even  respectful towards me. 

 Maybe they could have a policy posted that says "any  empty containers being purchased must have the lid taken off " or something like that so that you don't feel like they're picking on you, but there's NOTHING like that - so she can't claim she was just following policy-  it really did feel like she was TARGETING me - ie profiling me as a bad person. I'm NOT a bad person & had NO intention of stealing anything 🚫. I DON'T deserve to be treated like a criminal .
