11/16/15 7-11 clerk "boss-jerked" me,1878 pch,lomita...when a clerk calls you boss, it is their snide, cowardly way of pretending to be respectful but what they are really saying is that you walk around acting as if you know-it-all and boss people around without every doing anything yourself. They especially like calling "college boys" this pejorative (regardless of your age...if you went to college & have a sense of entitlement because of it or think you are smart because of it they think of you as "college boy" ie they do NOT care about let alone respect going to college, or they are sour grapes about not having gone...more likely). What to do when they call you "boss" ? Stop in your tracks and ask them intently what they mean by that? They are too cowardly to say what they really mean. Or call them "boss" before they do it (if you detect it is a cowardly clerk). OR use other creative ways to call them out. I use this clerk blog in such a way.
